My name is Bill Draper, born in Watertown NY. This is the start to my blog. I am trying this fresh. Most of my life is sharing a responsibility of being a father of 2 children. One with special needs and very creative and talented. My other super talented too, with a high energy, loving spirit! There are 2 others I will call my children too, also hard working and very creative! They are all very down to earth people! They are loving and caring people with high set goals. All of my children mean the world to me and always have.
I would like to thank them for being who they are.
I have a a couple (2017) music collections. Angelic Being (solo music effort) and Beauty in the Chaos ( poetry - with Kimberly Cavanagh and my acoustic styled music with a couple "live" songs, 25 song effort) Available at AMAZON, Spotify, youtube and other places around the internet. We have a facebook page. (Kim and I)
I started being interested in music because my father played guitar and of course MTV and discovering, my first loves, Julian Lennon and Aerosmith. I loved the RUN D.M.C collboration and also Aerosmith's "Angel" , and then I branched out from there and explored music and all types of bands. Later, I became addicted to Pearl Jam, Alanis Morissette, Bush, Metallica, Rush, Foo Fighters, Mazzy Star, Nirvana, Nelly Furtado, Guns N' Roses, The Doors, ( a lot of 60's- 70's 80's and 90's) I own a lot of vinyl too. I love the original Aerosmith ROCKS analog sound of the 70's.
(Aerosmith Rocks)
As a musician I tend to find myself being a perfectionist. Recently, I created another collection of songs using a free program called Audacity while waiting for my drum microphones to arrive, backordered since July of 2020 which lasted into January of 2021. Now that I have them, I find msyelf potential buying PRO TOOLS to record music with. I did create a effort musically called "Karmic Satisfaction" that I hope to release in the next 3-6 months that is a collection of 10 songs with one censored version of a tune. It will feature songs such as " She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not" and "Relive". I am just working and waiting on an album cover at this time. I also am planning on plowing ahead with another full sound heavy/rock effort. I have at least 25 demos ready to go. I started using my drum mics, but it is a learning curve event and I am considering using PRO TOOLS this time.
My life has not been easy, as many of ours, it has not. It has been riddled with health issues, mental health issues, disbanding of bands musically and more that I may get into later.
My significant other loves to write poetry and books! Her name is Kimberly A. Cavanagh. She is an inspiration to many. She has books available- at AMAZON. She also has poetry on our Beauty in the Chaos effort, (poetry and music) available too at AMAZON, Spotify and Youtube. Check it out. We share children and one biological child named Sunsetta. (I made this name up in high school) We used it. Thank You Kim for all your hard parenting work, love and appreciation and support.
I was in prior bands as well. There were disputes and behavior problems granted, but not all their fault either. I had my quirks. I was mainly a guitar player exception of starting to write in another concoction called "The Lost Pariahs" with Mr. Tom Hanno. We wrote some good music together and some of it appeared on my Angelic Being album. Two songs "Dying to Live and Pariah City" were the two I penned with him on guitar, myself on vocals. I altered them for the effort by changing the music and keeping majority of the lyrics. I did not feel comfortable using them as they originally were because we did not persist as a musical unit. I appreciate Tom's effort and work with me and thought it was fun.
I wrote and co-wrote a 13 song effort with another band called Lake Effect Mud. I put a video out we created together on YOUTUBE called "Piss On Me". It was quite and experience that didn't quite work out as hoped. I brought a lot of music to the band like "Gypsy Queen, "Crashed", "Freedom's Ghost", "Torn Up", "No Gravity" "Mudslide", and even helped write a song called "Lake Effect Mud" with the band bringing an echoing riff guitar to the band. On "Piss On Me," I played the drums on in the recording of the album. As all good things may come to and end, it did. I have since moved on with my solo work and am happy with it. I do occasionally look at what is out there as far as people and bands looking to form. I get interested. I may someday, get back to that. I don't know yet. Musically, Lake Effect Mud played originals and covers and turned me on to a lot of bands like "Creed" , "Korn" "Sponge", "Alice in Chains" "The Nixons" etc. During this time I had a lot of crisis and there were personality differences with the band. One night I even had a drum stick thrown at me that chipped my front tooth! If there was a Behind the Music with these guys, it would be a good story! Long Live Music!
This is my first, blog, enjoy getting to know me. I will post more later, some lyrics, old and new and some poetry maybe. Take CARE! Stay safe and well during these trivial times.
