What concerts have YOU been to??

amusememusically

WELL, to share some of my concert life.

Aerosmith (could have been 3x) - once a blizzard stopped me. Second, a jealous girlfriend. Such a shame. Wanted to go to Woodstock 94' but sat in a parking lot in Gouverneur NY, listening, instead. I did see them on the GET A GRIP tour. (1994) It was so loud and I was so young, I didn't wear ear protection. After I could not hear for shit. Steven Tyler was all over the stage. Good show. Jackyl opened the show. Then I saw them in a Syracuse club that flyers were around the concert venue saying they would have "special guests"... so everyone thought... Aerosmith. There were no special guests, but I got to see a good close up show at the club with Jackyl. The singer James, was crazy. He had his chainsaw and lit a chair on fire. I have a fear of fire, so it was rather dangerous to me. We survived, me and a high school buddy however.

Woodstock 99'

Aerosmith was asked to play, but they decided to play overseas, instead, I believe. Maybe a good thing as it ended in police in riot gear. I left as Red Hot Chil Peppers were playing. I was there with a gf at the time. We were probably the dryest, cleanest people there at the time. (alcohol and drugs) I got to see Jewel, Creed, Red Hots, Metallica ( a jug of water hit my GF in the head during that) I arrived as Alanis Morissette was playing. Another favorite performer of mine. As part of the story, we got in by finding a bracelet on the ground and buying a bracelet from someone leaving the event for 15 dollars. I told security my wristband ticket was broken from moshing and that someone stole all our belongings. He gave me a new wristband. This was my GF's idea to go, she herself was a musician too. I liked that about her though, get up and go... spontaneous... go places.

Bush/ Moby

Saw them in Oswego NY. (to OZ, WE GO) It was a good show. Gavin Rossdale put on a good performance. He also ran out into the stands and crowd, which was cool. The only thing that disappointed me was when I was trying to get my ticket signed, he would only sign tickets that seemed to come from women lol. So I handed it to my GF's sister and she got it signed.

Def Leppard/ Journey

Not the orginal Journey with Steve Perry. It was good though. The singer sounded very much like him. They had some kind of frequency buzz in their sound though. A little annoying. Def Leppard - although their original guitar player couldn't attend due to family emergency- was a good show and that replacement guitar player was right spot on. I went to this event in Buffalo NY with a prior friend from JRC. A workplace I used to work at for janitorial work on Fort Drum NY. I did have ear protection that night. The beer was pricey but good too. Just enough to hang. Be cool. Relax. Hysteria was played, so I was happy about that. My favorite song by them.

Metallica - Darien Lake, NY

I saw Metallica and it was nuts. Fights all over the place. I love Metallica but crowd control was not even close. The only control was the music making people angry. I think Days of the New played too and maybe another band I can't recall. There was a mosh fight. The whole crowd was shifting left to right with fights going on. Next thing I know- a woman is yelling screaming "I think he's dead!" Someone was in the fighting. Crazy. I just wanted to enjoy the show and music.

K-rock a thon.

I believe Local H played and that was my first taste of them. Bought their disc after. I love the songs "Bound to the floor and Eddie Vedder". That musical disc is pretty good with others as well. I think Papa Roach played too. I don't recall and I wasn't even blitzed or anything.

STORY- Big Wreck was on the radio while I was a cruising passenger in Boston, MA. My first experience with hearing the song "That Song". I thought immediately. I love this song! I have to own it! So I did. I think they are highly underrated. They also remind me of Soundgarden in the vocals.

Have a great day. This weekend warrior has to work today. (Sat. and Sun.)
