Heading out of my hamlet of an area today. My daughter had a specialist appointment. Kind of slowed down on recording music, but did buy a powered mixer to record with and some other odds and ends. Been a busy week, but le tired as usual.
Super excited to say that I do have 17 songs ready for another musical effort. Is 16 too many? I could have made it more, but I have to stop somewhere. I have my 10 year old working on an album cover for me. I gave her the thoughts, concept, visual and hopefully that works for us. She is super talented. (musician too, alike)
I was talking to my other daughter out of state and she may come home down the road, sooner than l8ter. This means the world to me since I have not seen her since around age 5. Long story. It will be like NEW! We talk on social media and all is great! She is so much like me and I see where she has traits of her Mom too. (things she likes) We have bonded great and naturally. I can't wait to see her in person again.
Here are some lyrics, to one of my new(er) songs- I wrote for the next collection.
HIGHER
Just when I thought I was going down in flames.
You pulled me back higher. Yes, Higher.
It was a wild world I was trusting in
but you brought me down
to pull me up higher, yes higher.
So don't bring me down
I am yours, we can lift ourselves out of the mud
and go higher, yes higher
We're artsy we're the bomb!
We're glorious as one
Yes higher, let's go higher.
I don't know what I was thinking
obviously overthinking when I should have made my move
move...
Move and shake it up a little, do less thinking
less thinking, let that sink in. Oh.
GUITAR SOLO
I've never felt so at peace
I've never felt so at ease
I've never felt so at peace
I've never felt so at ease
Just when I thought I was going down in flames
You brought me back higher, yes higher.
It was a wild world I was trusting in
but you brought me down, to go higher.
Yes. Higher.
I don't know what I was thinking
obviously overthinking
when I should have made my move, move...
Move and shake it up a little
do less thinking, less thinking
let that sink in... in....
